At the Coastal Geography & Terrain Analysis Lab, we aim to explore the interaction between nature and human activities along the coast. Located in Eastern North Carolina, within the U.S. coastal plain, our lab benefits from a unique outdoor setting where we investigate the ever-changing boundary between the ocean and the land.
We specialize in mapping, monitoring, and modeling the coastal environment better to understand erosion, accretion, and habitat composition. Our approach combines cutting-edge geospatial techniques with hands-on field observations to gather and process data. Through these efforts, we aim to uncover valuable insights into the dynamics of our coastal regions.
